The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has issued a new way of generating bill references to pay taxes in Lagos State effective 1 August 2022. Taxpayers must generate bill references on the eTax portal for all tax payments, which makes other means of obtaining bill references invalid. The payment processes and procedures will be more convenient for taxpayers and other stakeholders.
To generate a bill reference on eTax, follow the five (5) steps below.
Step 1: Visit https://etax.lirs.net
Step 2: Input your Payer ID and password to log in, applicable to registered users. New users must register to access the online portal.
Step 3: Select revenue type and upload schedule for PAYE and withholding taxes.
Step 4: Generate a bill reference.
Step 5: Pay via any payment channels and state the bill reference.
