FIRS launches Automated Tax Administrative Solution

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has released a public notice on the deployment of its Automated Tax Administration Solution. The automation exercise will start on 1 May 2021.

FIRS will connect its Automated Tax Administration Solution to tax records, point of sales, or invoice portal of taxable persons or their representatives. The purpose is to enable the revenue authority to have access to taxpayers’ data and information stored in electronic devices as well as cloud computing facilities. Taxable persons here include individuals, businesses, and entities.

Non-compliance to the notice will attract penalties in Section 26(3) of the FIRS Establishment Act. To download a copy of the public notice, click here.
