Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has introduced a new feature to ease the registration of new taxpayers in Nigeria. The self-registration module on TaxPro Max allows taxable persons to register for taxes with FIRS online. Taxpayers can now register with FIRS online, given the need to improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
Businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) after September 1, 2023, and assigned a Tax Identification Number (TIN) can now complete their registration with FIRS via TaxPro Max Registration. It is important to note that FIRS has a registration timeframe for businesses that can access the new feature. Taxable persons registered with the CAC before September 1, 2023, cannot register online but physically at the relevant tax office.
